Ameesha Patel revealed that she was called ‘too educated’ for doing films. The actress also said that she turned down movies which were not ‘good enough’.

Ameesha Patel, who has been missing from the big screen for a while, is now all set to make her comeback with Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2. The Anil Sharma directorial is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

Recently, in a chat with an entertainment portal, the actress spoke about her rebellious nature and her choice in cinema.

Ameesha told Bollywood Hungama, “I’ve rebelled against everything in my life. The family didn’t want me to go to America to study. They wanted me to go to England because that’s where the family lived. And that’s where they thought I’d be under watchful eyes. So I said, No, I want to go to America, I want to be my own person.”

You are Barrister Rajni Patel’s granddaughter, what are you doing here? And I’m like, why can’t an educated person be part of the performing arts? Because for me, it was art,” the actress shared.

Ameesha Patel made her Bollywood debut with Hrithik Roshan‘s 2000 blockbuster Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, and went on to feature in films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Humraaz, Ankahee, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2, to name a few.
