Actress Alia Bhatt penned a sweet note for director SS Rajamouli as he made it to Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2023.

    Cuppa News-Alia Bhatt

In the last couple of years, filmmaker SS Rajamouli has established himself as one of India’s best storytellers with blockbuster hits like Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion and RRR. His last visual spectacle, RRR made the nation proud by bagging an Oscar this year.

Adding one more feather in his cap, Rajamouli has made it to Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2023. In appreciation, Alia Bhatt penned a special note for her RRR director.

Recalling her first meeting with the prolific filmmaker at the preview of Baahubali 2, Alia wrote, “The first time I met S.S. Rajamouli was at the preview of Baahubali 2. We were all extremely starstruck. And even while I was watching the movie, I was like, Oh my God, what a dream it would be to work with this director. Lo and behold, the dream came true.”

Her note further read, “Being directed by him in RRR was like going to school all over again. He knows the audience he’s serving. He knows what beats to hit, what turns to take. I call him the master storyteller, because he genuinely loves the flair and abandon of stories. And he brings us together. India is a massive country with diverse demographics, tastes, and culture. But he gets that—and he unites us through his movies.”

She also revealed a piece of advice she received from the Eega director when it comes to acting.

Alia shared, “I once asked him for advice on acting. He said, “Whatever choice you I once asked him for advice on acting. He said, “Whatever choice you make, just do that with love. Because even if the film doesn’t work, the audience will see love in your eyes for what you’re doing.”

Workwise, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Ayan Mukerji’s big-budget fantasy adventure, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. Her next outing is Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. On the other hand, SS Rajamouli’s next directorial features Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.
