Aditi Rao Hydari, in a recent chat with an entertainment portal, expressed her desire to work with acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran. She also revealed the names of other directors on her wish list.
Aditi Rao Hydari made her acting debut with the Malayalam film, Mammootty starrer Prajapathi in 2006. Over the years, the actress established herself as a known-face across different film industries like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam with her impressive body of work.
In a career spanning more than 15 years, Aditi worked with some of the biggest directors in Indian cinema. In a recent chat with Film Companion, the Hey Sinamika actress revealed the names of the filmmakers which feature on her wish list.
Aditi told the portal, “It was actually Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rituparno Ghosh. Of course, Rituparno Ghosh isn’t with us so that would never happen. But these were the three directors that I sort of watched and I was like I had to inhabit these worlds. But if I were to tell you a checklist now, I always feel like when you have little dreams then you shouldn’t really share them. But some of these I have already said before, so I am telling you. I am dying to work with Vetrimaaran. I don’t know if I can ever inhabit his world. I hope that he will create a world where I can inhabit it. I thought the same for Neeraj Ghaywan and I did inhabit his world.”
Aditi also mentioned that she would love to work with Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Mari Selvaraj and Vivek Atreya of ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ fame. Speaking about Hindi cinema, the actress shared that Anurag Basu and Zoya Akhtar feature on her to-work-with list, adding that she would love to collaborate with Neeraj Ghaywan again.
Further, Aditi also expressed her wish to team with Malayalam director Basil Joseph. “There are so many incredible directors today. I also want to work with Basil Joseph who has now become an actor. He’s so good as an actor,” the actress told the portal.
On the work front, Aditi’s last release, Taj: Divided By Blood Season 2 is currently streaming on Zee5. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heera Mandi in the pipeline.
