Aamir Khan spilled the beans about his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par which also stars Darsheel Safary and Genelia D’Souza.
After a brief break post his last film Laal Singh Chaddha who received a lukewarm response at the box office, Aamir Khan is gearing up to bounce back with his next- Sitaare Zameen Par. The sports drama helmed by Prasanna, also features Darsheel Safary and Genelia D’Souza in pivotal roles.
In his latest chat with the Hollywood Reporter, Aamir teased a few details about this much-anticipated film. Calling it a beautiful story, the ‘3 Idiots’ actor said that while his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par was a very emotional film that left people in tears, Sitaare Zameen Par would make them laugh.
Aamir told the publication, “It’s a humorous film,” and added that while the theme of Sitaare Zameen Par is similar to the prequel, the emotional feel of the film is humor as opposed to emotions.
The Bollywood superstar shared, “In many ways I feel it’s way ahead of Taare Zameen Par because in the film, the person who was with the challenge in the film, who was Ishaan, was helped by my character.”
Aamir revealed that in his upcoming sports drama, it’s the ten people with challenges who are helping his character, who is supposedly a normal person. He called it a real flip from Taare Zameen Par, and stated that this Darsheel-Genelia starrer goes much further than that 2007 critically-acclaimed film.
In the same interview, Aamir also shared that he had thought of quitting films while he was working on Laal Singh Chaddha because he felt like he hadn’t been there for his relationships as he had dedicated the bulk of his adult life to movies. However, when he informed his family about his decision, they convinced him not to do so. His ex-wife Kiran Rao told him, “You’re a child of cinema, and if you’re leaving films, you’re leaving us.”
Finally, Aamir changed his mind and is now getting ready to grace the big screens again.
