Hitesh Bharadwaj opened up on why he can’t wait for the audience to watch him in Sony TV’s upcoming supernatural show Aami Dakini.

Hitesh Bharadwaj, who was last seen as Rajat in Star Plus’ popular soap Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, has bagged a new project. The actor will be seen as the male lead in Sony TV’s upcoming supernatural show Ami Dakini.

Set in Kolkata, the show is touted to be a blend of horror, mystery and drama. Hitesh will be essaying the role of Ayaan Roy Choudhary, a young guy who refuses to believe in the supernatural – until a vengeful spirit threatens his own life.

Reflecting on his role, the actor shared, “Ayaan is unlike any character I’ve played before. The horror backdrop and the character’s emotional depth make it extremely gripping for the viewers. The relationship between Ayaan and Meera starts unexpectedly, and as the story progresses, their bond is tested in ways neither of them could have imagined. It’s been an intense but rewarding process, and I can’t wait for audiences to watch his journey.”

Rachi Sharma of Durga and Charu fame has been roped in as the female lead opposite Hitesh Bharadwaj. She will be essaying the role of Meera Ghosh, a naive yet fearless girl who sees herself as Ayan’s family’s protector.

“Meera’s innocence makes her a refreshing character in a horror show. She is not a typical damsel in distress; she rises to a challenge. Meera and Ayaan are contrasting personalities, creating many unexpected moments between them. I had a wonderful time shaping her personality, and I’m excited for audiences to watch and show their love for the show,” the actress too dropped a hint about her role.

Sheen Dass will also be essaying a pivotal role in this show.

Earlier, Ami Dakini was supposed to star Rohit Chandel, Sarmistha Acharjee and Sheen Dass in leading roles. The makers had even released a promo featuring the trio. However, after shooting for two months, they decided to bring in a new pair, and retained only Sheen from the previous cast.

The telecast date of Ami Dakini is yet to be revealed.
