Mandana Karimi, in a new interview, spoke about her transition from acting to interior designing.
Iranian model-turned-actress Mandana Karimi recently opened up on her decision to bid goodbye to acting. She has now switched to academia and interior designing.
In a chat with Hindustan Times, Mandana shared that she was very young when she took up modelling to be able to support herself and that she always missed the fact that she couldn’t go back to school. The Main Aur Charles actress revealed that her interest in interior designing sparked when one of her friends, who owned a design firm, invited her to explore the field.
She fell in love with it and pursued a year-long course in interior designing. Mandana now actively works in this field and serves as a visiting professor at various institutes.
The Roy actor admitted that while she is grateful for her time in Bollywood, she never truly enjoyed acting.
“Acting was a job that I never loved, nor this industry. I am grateful for the time I spent there, but it wasn’t something I was hungry for or crazy about,” Mandana told the publication. She further revealed that she has been turning down modeling and acting offers to focus on her new career.
“It is of course hard to say no to money, but I still have casting director friends who call me for auditions, and I have to say I can’t devote so much time,” she was quoted as saying.
Further reflecting on her lifestyle shift, she added, “I now finish my work in the office, then come home, and go to school. My life has changed so much, but I’m loving it,” she said.
Mandana began her journey as a model and starred in several television commercials before she got a major breakthrough with Bigg Boss 9. Following her stint in this reality show, she made her transition into films with Ranbir Kapoor starrer Roy. She went on to feature in films like Bhaag Johnny, Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Thar.
