Saif Ali Khan, in a recent interview, admitted that he was nervous on the first day of Devara shoot.

Saif Ali Khan, known for his impeccable performances in Hindi cinema, is all set to make his Tollywood debut with Koratala Siva’s upcoming action drama, Devara starring Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. His first glimpse as Bhaira in the recently-released trailer has already created a buzz amongst the cinegoers.

During an interaction with ‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Saif  shared his experience on working on a Telugu film for the first time. Recalling his first day on the sets of the film, the ‘Hum Tum’ actor admitted that he felt nervous about delivering his dialogues in Telugu.

The actor recalled, “On the first day, I had to say these lines and I was given cues. Sweat started dripping down my T-shirt, and I felt a thrill I hadn’t felt in a long time. Even though it’s a film made in our own country, since it is a new language, it was a new experience for me. I was panicking because I think I might not down it properly.”

However, after a few days, Saif slowly started adapting to the language, and director Koratala Siva who had initially promised him less dialogues, started giving him longer dialogues as he felt the actor could pull it off.

“After some time, the dialogues started getting bigger. I would get two pages of dialogues, and I thought, “How will I manage this?’ But Siva said, “Now you can do it,” the actor said in his interview.

Further, he was also all praise for his co-star Jr NTR and continued, “I have to thank him, who was incredibly focused and helpful during the scenes. It could have been distracting for another actor, but he concentrated, and helped, and together we made it work.”

Interestingly, at the trailer launch event of Devara, Saif had shared how the ‘RRR’ star had a pivotal role to play in his casting. The actor had said that both Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva were impressed by his performance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara that released 18 years ago, and decided to offer him a role in Devara.

Devara will be releasing in two parts. The first chapter of the film is slated to hit the big screens on September 27, 2024.
