Aditya Roy Kapur, in a new interview, said that while he may be perceived as a ‘laidback’ guy when it comes to being a public personality or PR, he is super passionate about his work.

Unlike most of contemporaries, Aditya Roy Kapur prefers to stay low-key unless he has a film release lined up. In a recent interview with a leading publication, the Aashiqui 2 star spoke about his public image of being a chilled, laidback guy.

Aditya told Indian Express that people might perceive him to be laidback from the outside, but he has never been laidback when it comes to his work.

“I may be laidback with other things, like being a public personality, PR or other peripheral things. But the reason I am here is because I love my work, creating characters. So from the outside there can be a perception that I am laidback, but the work is something I have always been super passionate about. But I think I need that balance; I am super aggressive and intense when I am working and then maybe sometimes, I do need a switch off where I don’t feel that… I can’t be ‘on’ all the time. I need to recharge and come back, so that I give my 100 percent to my next thing,” the publication quoted the actor as saying.

Lately, Aditya has been a part of many intense action-oriented films like Malang, Rashtra Kavach Om and Gumraah. However, the actor told the portal that he doesn’t want to restrict himself to just thrillers and action films.

Talking about his next, Anurag Basu’s multistarrer Metro In Dino which is a light romantic flick, Aditya shared, “I am very happy I am doing that because as an actor you want to keep bouncing off and not be in the same space. I guess what happened was after Malang, which was a thriller love story, a couple of more interesting roles came my way and I chose to do them. It’s a genre I love and when it gets right, it really does well. So maybe that’s why it looks like the last few ones have been in that space. Having said that, these projects have been different from one another. It is not that I just want to do thrillers and action– no, that’s not the case.”

The Kalank star said that he is happy that he is doing Metro In Dino because the audience would get to see him in a soft, romantic role which he believes, is a lovely genre. The actor also added that he would love to do another romantic film, an intense love story.

Further, Aditya told the news portal that at this stage in his career, he is hungry to keep pushing himself to see what he can do. Citing example of Malang, he said that he realised that he can do action after a decade of being in the film industry.

According to Aditya, people start looking at you in a different light only if you start placing yourself in places which are slightly uncomfortable or do things that you haven’t done before. The actor signed off saying that he is hungry for that sensation of being uncomfortable.
