Rajat Bedi shared that many of his important scenes from Hrithik Roshan-Preity Zinta’s 2003 sci-fi film Koi Mil Gaya were chopped off at the editing table.
After making his Bollywood debut with Jackie Shroff-Tabu starrer 2001: Do Hazaar Ek, Rajat Bedi landed his first major breakthrough role with Hrithik Roshan-Preity Zinta’s sci-fi film Koi Mil Gaya in which he essayed the role of Raj Saxena, Hrithik’s character Rohit’s nemesis.
However, the actor doesn’t have pleasant memories about this film. In a recent interview with Mukesh Khanna, Rajat revealed that although he got a good break with Koi Mil Gaya, he did not get any benefit from the film because the makers edited a lot of his scenes in the final cut.
Speaking about Koi Mil Gaya, Rajat said, “It was not beneficial for me even after the film became a hit. I had a lot of scenes in the film with Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan. But after the final cut, many of those were edited out.”
He added, “My biggest disappointment was that when Koi Mil Gaya released, they completely cut me out from the publicity/promotions. I was very disappointed because as an actor, one has expectations. I felt terrible.”

Rajat further shared that he moved to Canada after a point as he was feeling frustrated with his work in the industry. Explaining the reason why he quit Bollywood, the actor said that he faced several roadblocks in his career where he was either edited out of good parts in films or his cheques would get bounced after the work.
Rajat told the interviewer that he was disappointed with his income despite his fame. “I was like ‘how will I grow?’ I am getting films, I am getting fame but I had to run a household,” said the actor adding that he felt ashamed as his friends were doing high-quality business while he was running short of money.
Besides Koi Mil Gaya, Rajat starred in films like International Khiladi, The Train, Hera Pheri, to name a few.
