Pooja Hegde made her debut in the Telugu film industry with the 2014 romantic comedy, Oka Laila Kosam in which she was paired opposite Naga Chaitanya. Over the years, the actress went on to establish herself as one of the most sought-after leading ladies there with films like Duvvada Jagannadham, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, Maharishi, Jigarthanda and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, to name a few.

In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, Pooja Hegde said that she is very proud to see SS Rajamouli’s Telugu magnum opus RRR smashing it at the Oscars this year. The Cirkus actress said that she feels a sense of belonging to the Telugu film fraternity and added that it’s a win for everyone whenever it does well.

Pooja told Bollywood Hungama, “I don’t know if it is ‘yeh to hona hi tha (it had to happen)’ but I’m really proud of them. It’s an industry I feel I belong to, so whenever it is doing really well, it’s a win for all of us who are working in the Telugu industry. When RRR went to the Oscars, it was like representation. You feel so proud to see, especially for me to see Naatu Naatu being sung on stage. I was just beaming with pride. When I spoke to Ram [Charan], I said we need to party about this. That’s great news!”

With respect to work, Pooja Hegde was recently seen in Salman Khan’s Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The family entertainer despite mixed reviews, has crossed Rs 50-Crore mark in its opening weekend. The actress is currently busy with Mahesh Babu-Trivikram’s upcoming film which is tentatively titled SSMB28.
