Alia Bhatt recently opened up on her thought process when it comes to giving her nod to a film.
Alia Bhatt who made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Karan Johar’s campus drama, Student Of The Year, has proved her mettle over the years with her acting chops in films like Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gully Boy, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings to name a few.
Her impressive portfolio of films has established her as one of the top-notch leading ladies in current times. Curious to know what goes in Alia’s mind before she greenlights a project? Well, the actress spilled the beans about it in her recent interaction with Humans Of Bombay when she was asked about choosing movies with strong female characters in it.
The Dear Zindagi star told the portal, “I think I naturally gravitate towards parts that gave me a challenge or drove me to a place that I haven’t been to before. For me, acting and being in front of the camera is not just a job. I do go home and forget about it and don’t take myself too seriously but while I am there, it has to churn me up and has to give me something more.”
Alia further added that she cannot do a film if her role in it isn’t a great part.
“So, it may be a small part but it has to be a great part and yeah so that is my focus. Also, why not because one thing I learnt in the last years that if you have a good story, great director and a good understanding, a female driven film can be a good film and be a commercial success and be something that people remember you by. So, the endeavour will always be to reach as wide as possible and I will continue to try and broaden the horizon by doing parts where I am the central protagonist,” the Brahmastra actress shared in her conversation.
On the work front, Alia recently wrapped up the Kashmir shooting schedule of her upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-starring Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. Besides this, she is also all set to make her debut in Hollywood with the Netflix film, Heart Of Stone alongside heavyweights like Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan and Sophie Okenado.
