Director Mansoor Khan recalled having a creative disagreement with Aamir Khan over the climax of his 1992 film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar Why Mansoor Khan Rejected Aamir Khan Climax Idea

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992) is one of the most important films in Aamir Khan’s career. Coming after his debut in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, it showed his growth as an actor and cemented his place as a star. The film’s mix of youthful energy, unforgettable songs, and the thrilling cycle race made it a classic.

But do you folks know that behind the scenes, there was a small clash between him and director Mansoor Khan that changed how the climax played out.

In a chat with Variety India, Mansoor Khan shared that during Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), Aamir  would listen to him completely. At that time, he was slightly nervous about his acting, though he did share a few viewpoints.

By the time Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992) was made, Aamir had gained confidence and was more involved in discussions.

The filmmaker recalled that they had a difference of opinion during the climax. Aamir suggested that, after winning the cycle race, his character Sanjaylal Sharma should give Deepak Tijori’s character a look and nudge him with his elbow while walking up to the victory stand. Mansoor refused, explaining that Sanjaylal had transformed from being a mischievous boy into someone who respected the meaning of winning, and therefore he would also treat Shekhar with respect.

He added with a smile that Aamir did not get his way.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar revolves around Sanjaylal Sharma (Aamir Khan), a carefree college boy who steps into his injured brother’s place in an inter‑collegiate cycle race. Through rivalry, romance, and discipline, he transforms from a mischievous youth into a champion who learns the true meaning of victory.

The film also features Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Mamik Singh and Pooja Bedi in pivotal roles.
