At the trailer launch event of Bawaal, Varun Dhawan shared his experience of teaming up with Nitesh Tiwari for the first time.

Ever since it was announced that Varun Dhawan is joining hands with ‘Dangal’ directorial Nitesh Tiwari for Bawaal, there was a lot of anticipation around the film. Finally, the makers hosted a special event in Dubai on Sunday (July 9, 2023) to unveil the trailer of the flick.

While speaking at the event, Varun shared, “This film (Bawaal) is about the truth. It’s all about what you want from life and your insecurities. I have never been as sure about a film as I am about Bawaal.”

The actor told reporters that working with Nitesh Tiwari was always on his bucket list, adding that he feels that his role in Bawaal is one of his best characters that he has played so far.

“I still remember, I often asked Nitesh sir to make a film with me in COVID-19 times. Finally, after 7-8 months, he had a story for me. I personally feel it is one of my best characters. This is closest to the reality,” Dhawan Jr said at the event.
Further, the actor shared how the film’s directorial threw him a googly when he asked him about how to prepare for his character of Ajay in Bawaal. Varun said, “I always asked Nitesh sir on how to prep for the film. He said, ‘Tu mere office aa ja.’ The performance you see is all him. I am very excited to bring this film to the audience, and I will be looking to all feedback.”
Varun also revealed that he always wanted to be an actor from a very early age, but was scared to tell his family about it.
The Bhediya star said, “I always dreamt of being an actor and I manifested it from an early age. I was scared to tell my dad who was so successful. I always said I want to be a businessman when I grow up. In fact, I told him after I bagged Student Of The Year.”
Touted to be an intense love story with World War 2 playing a pivotal role in his narrative, Bawaal features Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady. The film is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 21, 2023.
