Will Yash’s bold re-invention be a tonic for his career or prove toxic at the box office?

When KGF: Chapter 1 dropped in 2018, no one had a clue that Yash was about to serve a whole vibe. But then, his Rocky bhai walked in with ‘violence, violence’, and boom, the pop culture got a new addition. Nobody thought a Kannada film could shake up the world stage. But KGF didn’t just stay local; instead it went full viral.

In 2022, Rocky Bhai’s swagger in its second instalment had theatres shaking, fans screaming, and memes flying across borders. Fast-forward four years and Yash is now all set to mark his return on the big screen with Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups.

Ever since the film’s announcement, there has been just one question on everyone’s mind: will this be another global mood swing or just a stylish story time? And now, with the makers dropping that 1.55‑minute teaser yesterday (Feb 20, 2026), we have timelines buzzing, fandoms debating, and hype levels maxed.

Every frame is being measured against the KGF madness, and fans are asking if Yash can out-flex his previous role.

The sneak-peek had his character Raya serving full noir-core drip- gangster energy, brutal chop-chop action, and smoke-filled frames that looked straight out of a Hollywood mood board. Clearly, the makers were flexing hard on production design, but did it impress? Well, the internet was split.

Some fans crowned it a ‘blockbuster in the making,’ while others dragged it as pure ‘KGF hangover’, saying the teaser leaned too heavy on style over substance.

Honestly, we kind of felt that too; maybe it’s Yash’s larger-than-life gangster look or the bloodthirsty action sequences that gave us déjà vu vibes. Also, we couldn’t help but notice the leading ladies- Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria were totally MIA in the teaser. We wonder if they just being held back for the big trailer reveal or if Toxic is leaning into straight-up boys club energy.”

But hey, first looks can be deceptive. The real vibe check will be the trailer drop. And with Geetu Mohandas running the show, we are hyped to see a woman director steering a gangster fairytale this massive.

Can Toxic shake off the KGF hangover and stand tall, or will it be seen as Rocky Bhai’s afterparty? Well, like Yash says in the teaser- ‘It’s over when I say it’s over. So, over the mic to him (March 19, 2026).
