Rahul Bhat said that he wants to thank Chiyaan Vikram for skipping Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy.

Anurag Kashyap’s much-anticipated film, Kennedy starring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone recently had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The crime thriller was screened in the Midnight Section of the festival.

Prior to this, Anurag Kashyap shared in an interview that Rahul Bhat wasn’t his first choice for Kennedy. The filmmaker had written the crime thriller for Chiyaan Vikram whose real name is Kennedy and thus, the title of the film. However, when the Ponniyin Selvan actor didn’t respond to his film offer, he approached Rahul Bhat to play the lead role.

Later, Vikram took to his Twitter handle to clarify Anurag’s statement about him rejecting Kennedy. He issued a statement in which he revealed that he had called Kashyap after he came to know the filmmaker had tried to contact him for Kennedy on his old number and email id. The I actor also extended his best wishes to the film.

Following this, Kashyap too, added more to this clarification and urged everyone not to overact.

Now, in an interview with Film Companion, the film’s lead actor Rahul Bhat reacted to this entire fiasco. On being asked if he was happy that Vikram never got around to doing Kennedy, the actor had a hilarious response. He said that he would lie down at the Anniyan star’s feet if he ever met him and thank him.

Rahul told the entertainment portal, “Whenever I meet him, I will lie down at his feet and touch them and say, ‘Vikram, I am in love with you. Thank you Vikram.’” 

Kennedy, a neo-noir thriller revolves around a former cop who suffers from insomnia and operates at night, seemingly deriving pleasure from taking lives and has scores to settle.
