Nushrratt Bharuccha made her acting debut with Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011. Since then, the actress has entertaining us with her performances in films. In a recent interview with a leading publication, the actress recalled her struggles in the industry. Nushrratt revealed that she lost work as people felt she wouldn’t look good on posters.

While speaking with Indian Express, the Selfiee actress was asked if she is eyeing the top position in the film industry like some of her contemporaries.

In response, Nushrratt said, “You are asking about being number one, there are also terms like Top 5 and Top 10. I don’t understand what does that even mean. An actor either fits a part or doesn’t. You have these girls and you check who works better. You can’t go to these top 5 and cast among them. That would be wrong. What if none matches the part? Honestly, I am not in any race, nor want to be on any list.”

Speaking about how this approach cost her projects, the actress shared,  “I have been told that you won’t look good on posters. Imagine, are they making films or just posters? You can never sell a film only on poster value. So yes, I do hear a lot of these lingos and languages and this is why maybe I like working with new people. They can make Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ki Sweety… and kill it. I think at the end of the day if your work backs you, all these myths can be broken.”

Nushrratt told the portal that she doesn’t let these things demotivate her ever adding that she is happy with the kind of people she is working with. Emphasizing that she isn’t running any race, she added that she isn’t here to work with everyone.

“You gel and vibe with some people and you make good films,” the actress was quoted as saying by the publication.

Meanwhile, Nushrratt’s latest release, Chatrapathi which marks the Bollywood debut of Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas, is currently running in cinema halls.
