Mahesh Bhatt, in a recent interview, reacted to his actress-daughter Alia Bhatt making her Hollywood debut with Gal Gadot-Jamie Dornan starrer Heart Of Stone.

After a dreamy debut with Karan Johar’s campus romance Student Of The Year in 2012, Alia Bhatt went on to establish herself as one of the most sought-after leading ladies with her memorable performances in her decade-long career. Now, the actress is all set to conquer the west with her international debut, Heart Of Stone.

In a recent interview with Times Of India, Alia‘s father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt reacted to her Hollywood debut. He said that his heart soars with pride when he sees his daughter stand with international stars like Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in the frame.

The publication quoted Mahesh as saying, “My heart soars with pride when I see her standing with the who’s who of international players like Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. To stand there without being pygmied by the idea that it is Hollywood, the young of today don’t feel slighted or lesser in any way when it comes to international talent.”

Further, he also recalled an incident when he asked Alia what Hollywood has that Bollywood lacks.

Speaking about it, he shared, “I once remember asking her, ‘What is it that they have that we don’t have? And her straight reply was ‘Money’. She said it with great humility. She also said that they have a way of doing things and they are very professional but they have money, otherwise we have it all. I think that confidence is very important for the nation.”

According to the official synopsis of the film, Heart Of Stone revolves around Agent Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot), an intelligence operative who stands between her global, peace-keeping organization and the loss of its most valuable and dangerous asset, codenamed: The Heart. The recently released trailer hinted that Alia Bhatt might be playing the role of the main antagonist.

Heart Of Stone is scheduled to release on Netflix on August 11.
