Kartik Aaryan, who was recently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, talked about how his goals as an actor have evolved over time.

With Chandu Champion earning him critical acclaim and his latest release, Bhool Bhulaiyya 3 having an impressive run at the box office, Kartik Aaryan, in his latest interview with a popular magazine, opened up on how 2024 has been a transformative year for him.

In a chat with Grazia, Kartik said, “This year has really taught me resilience and helped me gain perspective. Each experience only reinforced my love for what I do.”

The actor admitted that striking a balance between mass appeal and nuanced storytelling has been one of his biggest challenges.

Calling it a ‘fine line’, Kartik explained, “I want to entertain but also take on roles that challenge me creatively. The audiences love variety – they embraced me as Chandu, and they also enjoy the madness I bring as Rooh Baba. It’s about continuing to surprise them.”

Further, while talking about how his goals as an actor have evolved over the years, the ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ actor shared, “While commercial success is gratifying, I’m more focused on building a legacy. I want my work to reflect versatility and authenticity. If my performances can inspire, entertain, or even challenge perceptions, I’ll feel I’ve left behind something meaningful.”

Despite being in the industry for 13 years, Kartik said that every film feels like a fresh start, and further added, “I love how unpredictable the process is – it keeps the passion alive. The moments where I feel nervous or uncomfortable before a scene? Those are the ones I know will push me the most.”

The Bollywood actor also opened up on his process as an actor, and revealed that his method is a mix of preparation and spontaneity, depending on the film.

“With movies like Chandu Champion or Freddy or Dhamaka, preparation is key. But for lighter films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3Luka Chuppi or Pati Pati Patni Aur Woh, I let spontaneity guide me. It really depends on the role,” Kartik told the publication.

Speaking about work, Kartik’s latest release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is currently having a successful run in theatres. The horror comedy helmed by Anees Bazmee also features Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri. According to reports, his next is Anurag Basu’s musical in which he is paired opposite Triptii Dimri again.
