Calling herself a fan of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G), Kareena Kapoor Khan admitted that she never expected that her character Poo from the film would become such a massive hit.

In a career spanning two decades and a half, Kareena Kapoor Khan has many successful films to her credit, and enjoys a huge fanbase ranging from the young to the old. She has also given us many iconic characters which continue to hold a special place in our hearts.

Recently, Bebo added a new feather to her illustrious career with the popular multiplex chain PVR INOX pictures curating a film festival to celebrate her silver jubilee in the Hindi film industry. While speaking at the event, the actress opened up on the appeal of her her iconic characters like Poo (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) and Geet (Jab We Met).

Kareena said that after a point, one just loses the count of the films that they do, and mentioned that she is a fan of Karan Johar’s 2001 family entertainer, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. 

The ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ star said, “I am a fan of that film because I love the idea of family, tradition, and the warmth it has. That’s why I just love the film.”

Kareena further said that she never anticipated that her character Poo from the film would become such a huge hit, and also shared that she has watched that film the maximum number of times.

“When we were doing Poo, I was just following Karan’s instructions. I knew it was a super fun character, but no one really thought that 25 years later, you would still have characters based around who are like her. That was never really the intention. It just happened,” the actress shared at the event.

While addressing the audience, Kareena also shared how Jab We Met unexpectedly outshone Tashan, a film she was shooting simultaneously.

Bebo said, “I was shooting Tashan simultaneously, which had big names like Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan. I thought Tashan was going to be amazing; I was focusing on my body for it, thinking it would be my action film. But when Jab We Met released, people loved it more than Tashan. So, there was no real plan. Magic just happens.”

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan recently headlined Hansal Mehta’s thriller, The Buckingham Murders.
