Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming thriller Jaane Jaan which marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s foray into OTT, was initially planned with Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After conquering hearts with her acting chops on the big screen, Kareena Kapoor Khan is now all set to step into the world of OTT with Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming Netflix film Jaane Jaan. But do you folks know that this crime thriller was originally planned with Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2015 before it fell into Bebo’s lap?

Addressing this, at the trailer launch of Jaane Jaan, Kareena said, “Back then I was not even a part of this film. But Saif is extremely excited about Jaane Jaan. He is eagerly awaiting to watch the film. He has seen the trailer four times and he feels that everyone has completely nailed it.”

Director Sujoy Ghosh who was also present at the event, added, “Saif has a history with the film and then like a true husband shoved down his responsibilities on Kareena. We were supposed to do the film but we couldn’t make it and I believe that every film has its own destiny and now it has happened with Kareena so for me it has come a full circle.”

Further, Bebo also spoke about how she was ‘warned’ by her actor-husband Saif to be prepared before going to the sets since she was working with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Alhawat for the first time.

The Laal Singh Chaddha actress shared, “Saif had told me that this is not a film where you would do make-up and land up on the sets, say your dialogues and the job is done. You are working with Jaideep and Vijay who would improvise so you better be prepared and be on your toes. So I was a bit intimidated.”

Talking about Jaane Jaan, the crime thriller is based on Keigo Higashino’s best-selling novel ‘The Devotion Of Suspect X’. Set in Kalimpong, the edge-of-the-seat thriller revolves around Maya (Kareena Kapoor Khan), Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat) and Karan (Vijay Varma) who navigate through a web of emotions and unforeseen circumstances as they cover up and uncover clues in a bid to outwit each other. The film is slated to release on Netflix on September 21 i.e on Kareena’s birthday.
