Actress Kangana Ranaut opened up on being ill-treated during her modelling days in a recent interview.

Kangana Ranaut has always been vocal about her struggling days in her interviews. Known for her candid and frank statements, the actress in her latest chat with an entertainment portal, recalled how she was humiliated for her height during her stint as a model.

The actress shared that she came to Mumbai for a saree catalogue shoot and refused to go back to her agency in Delhi because the people there won’t treat her kindly and would ill-treat her because of her height. Kangana further added that she even tore her return ticket to stay back in Mumbai.

As per a report in Hindustan Times, the Dhaakad actress said, “In 2004, I came to Mumbai for a modelling assignment and then I threw away the phone my agency gave me. When they called me back (to Delhi) I even tore my ticket. I told them that I don’t want to go back. I didn’t want to work there because I was constantly humiliated).”

Kangana added that most of the girls who walked the ramp there in Delhi were taller than 5’11, while she was around 5’7.

“To become a model in Delhi one needed to be 5’11-6 ft tall, but I was 5’7. I used to remain seated throughout the day and was told that I am good for nothing). Then, I started getting catalogue (shoots) and ads where I had to stand behind others. I came to Mumbai for a catalogue shoot of saree. But, it’s okay, it used to help me with my expenses at that time,” the actress recalled.

Kangana revealed that she stayed back in Mumbai after her catalogue shoot and started auditioning for acting roles. In 2006, she bagged Anurag Basu’s Gangster alongside Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja. Over the years, the actress cemented her position in the Hindi film industry with acclaimed films like Queen, Fashion, Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu Again, amongst others. Next, the National Award-winning actress has some interesting films in the pipeline like Emergency, Tejas, Chandramukhi 2 and The Incarnation: Sita.
