Jibraan Khan revealed that he had auditioned for Tiger Shroff starrer Student Of The Year 2 but failed to bag the project because of this reason.

Remember Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol)’s son Krish from Karan Johar‘s 2001 family entertainer, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham? The role was played by none other than Ishq Vishk Rebound actor Jibraan Khan.

After his popular stint as a child actor, Jibraan recently made his full-fledged acting debut as an adult with Nipun Dharmadhikari’s rom-com Ishq Vishk Rebound. Recently in a chat with Free Press Journal, the actor revealed that before bagging this film, he had auditioned for Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2 but failed to land the part because he looked younger than Tiger Shroff.

Jibraan said, “I did audition for Student of The Year 2 but it didn’t work out as I looked younger than Tiger Shroff. IVR (Ishq Vishk Rebound) was destined for me, I was born to play Sahir.”

On being asked why it took him so long to make his big screen debut since K3G released in 2001, the actor responded, “I have been asked this question since past 5-6 years. I will be honest that it hasn’t been an easy journey for me. I had to find something right to mark my debut. I knew that I won’t be a drop in the ocean. I had to be prepared as a mainstream actor also, be it my physicality or my acting skills. One cannot sit back and expect work to come to you, it didn’t come to me.”

He further continued, “There were calls but I never got the work that I wanted to do. I literally went out to ask for work from directors and producers. I have never shied away from asking for an audition.”

Besides Jibraan Khan, Ishq Vishk Rebound also marked the acting debut of Hrithik Roshan’s niece Pashmina Roshan alongside Rohit Saraf and Naila Grrewal.
