Nawazuddin Siddiqui recalled an incident where he got scolded by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on the first day of shooting of Gangs Of Wasseypur.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s portrayal of Faizal Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs Of Wasseypur earned him rave reviews from every nook and corner. But do you know that the actor had a rather tough day on the first day of shoot? In a recent interview, Nawazuddin said that the film’s director scolded him for ‘behaving too much like Al Pacino’.

While speaking with Mashable India, the Raees actor said that he used to sleep as Robert De Niro or Al Pacino during his training days.

Nawazuddin told the portal, ”I was in that phase for three to four months. My teacher would advise me not to do it. On the first day of the shooting of Gangs Of Wasseypur, main pura Al Pacino banke gaya (I went like Al Pacino). I would even speak like him. Anurag (Kashyap) scolded me a lot at night. He told me, ‘You’re behaving too much like Al Pacino. So I threw the entire façade away overnight and I couldn’t sleep all night. When I went there in the morning the next day, I went purely as Nawaz.”

Further, the actor also recalled how Anurag Kashyap advised him not to ‘play power and instead just be normal to look dangerous.

Gangs Of Wasseypur, released in two parts, revolves around a clash between Sultan and Shahid Khan which leads to Khan’s expulsion from Wasseypur, thus igniting a deadly blood feud spanning three generations.
