Anees Bazmi, in a new interview, shared that he is no longer collaborating with Shahid Kapoor for a film. However, he didn’t reveal the reason behind the actor’s exit.

Last year, it was reported that Shahid Kapoor is all set to team up with Anees Bazmi for an out-and-out comedy. Apparently, the film was titled Double Trouble and was to feature the ‘Kabir Singh’ actor in a double role with Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. There were talks about another heroine also joining the cast.

The film was to roll in August 2023. However, soon, reports about creative differences between Shahid Kapoor and Anees Bazmee began to float in media. Recently, in a chat with News18, Anees confirmed that the ‘Jersey’ star is no longer doing his film and added that the project has been shelved indefinitely.

“I am not doing the film with Shahid Kapoor,” he told the publication, but remained tight-lipped about the reason behind the same.

Despite this setback, Anees expressed his belief in the project which he considers to be ‘special’ and revealed that he will make the film with some other actor.

The filmmaker told the portal, “I will restart working on the same script after I wrap up the shoot of my next film because it’s a great script according to me. I will do it with some other hero.”

On the work front, Anees Bazmee is all set to next helm Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which has Kartik Aaryan reprising his role of Rooh Baba. The horror comedy is expected to go on floors early next year.

Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, has Dinesh Vijan’s yet-to-be-titled film up next for release. The robot romantic comedy has Kriti Sanon paired opposite him for the first time.
