Alaya F reacted to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s box office failure and said that the film changed her perspective in many ways.

Ali Abbas Zafar’s big-budget film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was one of the most anticipated films of this year. Sadly, the science fiction action flick tanked terribly at the box office. In a recent interview with Cine Connects, Alaya F who was one of the female leads, opened up on the film’s disastrous performance.

The Freddy actress said, “Honestly, a film like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as a failure surprisingly didn’t affect me that much because for me, I still got a lot from the film. In the sense that I still reached a very new audience that perhaps didn’t know of me before even through one or two songs that I was a part of, through just being in interviews or in promotions with people like Tiger (Tiger Shroff) and Akshay Sir (Akshay Kumar).

She continued, “I think I still managed to reach a new audience. This was the first time I was doing a proper songs in some capacity so I learnt a lot as well. It was a very different sort of acting; I had to learn that too. It was a very different shoot environment compared to how the sets I am normally on. I got to learnt that also.”

Calling herself as someone who ‘loves to learn’, Alaya revealed that there was some sort of disappointment when Bade Miyan Chote Miyan didn’t do well as everyone hopes that their film turns out to be the biggest blockbuster. But she also added that she learnt a lot on that film; both personally and professionally.

“It also gave me a lot of clarity on what I want to do going forward. I had two releases this year- Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Srikanth. It just changed my perspective in a lot of ways. I have spent so much time chasing films like BMCM. Critical acclaim is one thing. We all chase that commercial success, the commercial stamp that’s on you,” Alaya candidly confessed.

The actress said, “I would love to do more films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also; by that I mean the hyper commercial space. Every actor’s dream is that irrespective of what they say.”

Alaya admitted that over time, in the process of chasing that, she let go of what she was actually here to do- act.

“I love acting and that’s the actual reason why I joined this profession. I think my focus since my two releases this year has actually been about taking a step back and re-evaluating all the choices I am doing. I am trying to make choices that remind me of the feeling I got when I was doing a Jawaani Jaaneman. So, that has actually been my objective. I feel like I learnt a lot this year through all the experiences that I have had. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was a large part of that learning and journey for me,” the U-Turn actress said.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starred Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Alaya F and Manushi Chhillar in leading roles. Prithviraj Sukumar essayed the role of the main antagonist in this film which released in April this year.
