Plot Recap (Episodes 73-79)

Krish heads upstairs to check on a brooding Jeet, who is completely lost in thought after the chaos downstairs. Naturally, Krish refuses to let him brood in peace. He teases Jeet for standing like a silent statue during Nita and Ridhan’s showdown and keeps pushing him to admit what he really feels for Saumya. Jeet, however, remains firmly parked in denial.

Downstairs, Shobha, Rajeev, and Sanjeev are almost celebrating, convinced Ridhan escaped a mismatched relationship just in time. Dadi and Tanya are far less convinced. They sense that Ridhan had a much bigger reason for ending the engagement. Tanya tries to question him, but Ridhan shuts her down, saying nobody will understand. When Tanya openly points toward the unspoken connection between Saumya and Jeet, Pakhi immediately jumps to Ridhan’s defense. The argument quickly heats up until Nita steps in and puts an end to the family chaos.

Away from everyone, Ridhan finally meets Saumya and tells her the truth. He knows she loves Jeet. He admits that no matter how much he loves her, he could never understand her childhood trauma or reach her heart the way Jeet naturally does. Choosing Saumya’s happiness over his own desire to keep her, Ridhan steps aside. He gives her a piece of toffee that carries memories of their childhood, urges her to confess her feelings to Jeet, and makes her promise that their lifelong friendship will never disappear. Saumya is hurt that he kept her in the dark and apologizes for the pain she caused him. Ridhan walks away with dignity, but once he is alone in his room, the brave face finally collapses. Surrounded by a box of old memories, he breaks down in bitter tears over the love he has chosen to let go.

Saumya then runs into Uma and braces herself for another lecture. Instead, the latter surprises her with warmth and complete support. She tells Saumya that there is no point in spending an entire life without love. She also tears down Saumya’s fears about Anoop and her insecurity that Jeet is somehow beyond her reach. Uma reminds her that what she shares with Jeet is rare and cannot simply be ignored. She hugs Saumya, promises to stand by her, and even volunteers to become her personal proposal coach.

Jeet, meanwhile, sits with his Nani’s urn and tries to understand his own strange reaction to the broken engagement. Instead of sadness, he feels an undeniable sense of relief. For the first time, something seems to click inside him. Convinced he finally knows what he needs to do, Jeet immediately books tickets to a ball party for the two of them. Krish spots the move and cannot hide his smirk, convinced that Jeet has finally stepped out of denial and is ready to do something about his feelings.

Uma officially takes on wing woman duties and begins coaching Saumya on the fine art of proposing. Saumya quickly points out that confessing your love sounds much easier than actually doing it. Krish jumps in with some much-needed confidence, insisting that Jeet clearly has feelings for her too. The reassurance instantly lifts Saumya’s spirits. Krish, however, gets the bigger shock when he realizes Uma already knows exactly what is brewing between Jeet and Saumya. When Saumya teases him about not even being able to propose to a mannequin, Krish defends his species, explaining that guys may act tough but become complete nervous wrecks when matters of the heart enter the picture. Saumya still wants to take things slowly, but Krish cannot resist dropping one final hint. Jeet is planning to take her to the annual ball party. Suddenly, Saumya is left with a far more exciting question. Is Jeet finally planning to confess?

Elsewhere, Jeet finds himself locked in a battle with his beloved motorcycle, Baby, which stubbornly refuses to start. After several failed attempts, a mysterious girl walks over, casually touches the back of the bike, and somehow brings it roaring back to life. Jeet is stunned and demands to know what magic she performed. The girl confidently calls herself extraordinary and enjoys his confusion. When Jeet tries again and Baby refuses to cooperate, he is left completely puzzled by both the bike and the strange newcomer.

The next morning, Saumya runs into Jeet and immediately remembers Krish’s revelation about the annual ball. Secretly hoping Jeet will invite her, she struggles to say anything. Jeet asks how she is doing and happily reports that Baby is out of danger and will soon return home. Saumya sweetly promises to pray for his baby’s speedy recovery while silently waiting for the invitation that never quite comes. She wants to make the first move but loses her nerve. Watching from afar, Uma enjoys every second until Anup catches her staring. She quickly pretends she was admiring the flowers while wondering why Saumya is taking so long to make a move.

Still nervous about Jeet, Saumya calls Ridhan for a ride to college and receives an emotional shock instead. Ridhan tells her he needs time to process everything and has decided to leave for London. He asks her not to blame herself and urges her to live her life freely. An emotional Saumya prays to Mata Rani for his peace. Back at the Saxena house, Nita questions Ridhan about his packing while Pakhi angrily challenges him over ending the marriage, insisting Saumya’s past is no reason to reject her. Ridhan shuts down the interrogation and refuses to let anyone question Saumya’s dignity.

Uma and Krish help Saumya deal with Ridhan’s departure. They remind her that feeling sad for him does not mean she must sacrifice her own happiness. Ridhan made his choice, and she cannot spend her life trying to reduce his pain. Krish adds that their lifelong friendship does not disappear simply because she chooses Jeet. Their words finally help Saumya understand that respecting Ridhan’s decision also means being honest about her own heart.

Dadi finds Sanjeev worried about Ridhan and asks if he understands why the alliance really ended. She tells him that Saumya loves Jeet. Surprisingly, Sanjeev does not react with anger. He admits Jeet did nothing wrong and even feels relieved that someone might finally give him the love and affection he has always lacked. Ridhan has an entire family standing behind him, while Jeet has spent much of his life alone. When Dadi points out how easily people hate Jeet without truly knowing him, Sanjeev admits he has no objection to Saumya being with him. His only worry is Nita, knowing she will create another storm the moment she discovers the truth.

Meanwhile, Saumya finds inspiration in an online proposal video and decides her confession to Jeet deserves something special. She plans to bake heart-shaped cookies as part of her proposal. Even imagining Jeet’s reaction sends her nerves into overdrive, but this time she refuses to hide behind fear. With Krish and Uma firmly in her corner, helping her silence the endless overthinking, Saumya finally gathers the courage to take the leap and tell Jeet exactly how she feels.

Saumya, Krish, and Uma turn the kitchen into a mini bakery as they prepare heart-shaped cookies for Jeet. He walks in, spots the flour all over Saumya’s face, and laughs, but she refuses to lose focus. After plenty of effort, the perfect heart cookies are finally ready, instantly tempting Krish. Saumya carefully packs them while Uma happily declares that the sweet little box is officially the first step in Jeet and Saumya’s love story.

Meanwhile, Sanjeev pulls Ridhan into a warm hug. Ridhan quietly assumes his father already understands the real reason he ended things with Saumya but chooses not to ask. His sudden decision to pack his bags and move to London remains a mystery to everyone. Jeet eventually corners him over avoiding his calls and questions why he is running away when ending the engagement was his own decision. Ridhan refuses to explain. He simply asks Jeet to let him go and promises the answers will come when the time is right, leaving Jeet completely confused.

High on hope, Saumya gets ready for college and even color coordinates her clothes with Jeet’s outfit, secretly enjoying the little connection. On the way, she meets Apsara and opens up about her painful past and family struggles. Apsara becomes a guardian angel of sorts, listening without judgment and encouraging Saumya to trust life and its surprises. Her words give Saumya the courage she needs to fight for her happiness and head toward the ball party with renewed hope.

At college, Saumya nearly loses her precious cookie box after bumping into another student but manages to save it just in time. Her friends tease her while her eyes search the crowd for Jeet. The second she sees him looking impossibly handsome, every carefully rehearsed word disappears from her mind. As he walks toward her, Saumya slips into a dreamy fantasy where she offers him the cookies, Jeet dramatically pulls her close, declares that she is his first love, and returns her confession with an “I love you.” Then reality rudely knocks. Saumya opens her eyes only to see Jeet casually walking right past her.

Back home, Madhu notices the missing cookies and questions Uma. Thinking fast, Uma claims she ate the entire batch herself, protecting Saumya’s secret proposal plan from unwanted family interference.

The real heartbreak arrives at the ticket counter. The students excitedly make way as Jeet walks up and buys a couple pass, instantly setting off whispers about the identity of his mystery date. Saumya watches with a fluttering heart, completely convinced that he is finally going to ask her. Instead, Jeet walks straight past her and invites another girl named Alia to the ball. Saumya is left frozen, her hopes crashing in seconds.

A flashback reveals the painful irony behind Jeet’s spectacularly wrong move. While talking to his Dadi’s urn, he had overthought Saumya’s behavior and decided that she had been uncomfortable around him ever since their intense moment at the warehouse. Convinced that their closeness had frightened her, Jeet deliberately chose another date to prove he was not pursuing her. In his mind, creating distance would make Saumya comfortable enough for their old friendship to return. Unfortunately, while Saumya is finally ready to move toward him, Jeet is busy sprinting in exactly the opposite direction.

Alia excitedly agrees to be Jeet’s date, while a heartbroken Saumya gets caught holding her baked goods. Jeet casually takes the container, snaps a heart-shaped cookie in half, and shares it with Alia. He is completely oblivious to the fact that he just symbolically shattered Saumya’s feelings before the class bell rings.

Back home, Saumya breaks down to Uma and Krish, spiraling into self-doubt as she compares herself to Alia and labels Jeet every girl’s dream guy. Later, after aggressively taking her anger out on a blanket, Saumya catches Jeet looking dashing in a black tuxedo. When Saumya refuses to attend the ball out of humiliation, Uma stages a dramatic scene in front of Anup to distract everyone, ultimately convincing her to put on a stunning pink gown and go. Jeet arrives at the ball with Alia but completely ignores her attempts at romance, randomly bringing up how Saumya wears scrunchies and staring at the entrance. When Saumya makes her grand entry, Jeet is utterly mesmerized by her princess-like transformation.

Annoyed by his distraction, Alia sends Jeet away on an errand to fetch a bandage. The second he leaves, Alia and her mean-girl squad surround Saumya, mocking her gown as a “fancy-dress competition” and falsely claiming Jeet was holding back laughter at her expense. Crushed by the cruel humiliation and her own deep insecurities, Saumya loses her balance, collapses to the ground, and breaks down in tears.

A shattered Saumya stands before the mirror, sobbing and calling herself a complete loser for letting Jeet see through her defenses. Jeet follows her and gently asks her to pick up her fallen tiara, put it back on, and return to the party with him. But Saumya is too humiliated to listen. She throws the tiara across the room, and tells Jeet to get lost. She wants neither his pity nor his comfort and angrily asks him to disappear from her life. Jeet is left frozen.

Stunned and overwhelmed by the rejection, Jeet calls Sanjeev to demand his transfer certificate so he can leave Prayagraj the very next morning. Back home, a defeated Saumya tells Uma and Krish she has given up (with Krish covering her tears from Anup by claiming something flew into her eye), before Jeet drops a massive bombshell at the family dinner, announcing he is leaving Prayagraj forever for a better college and asking Madhu for a final caramelised paratha.

Later, Uma and Krish confront Saumya about how badly things have spiraled. She admits she lost her temper and told Jeet to leave the city and stay away, never imagining he would actually take her words seriously. Uma scolds her for destroying her own happiness in one angry outburst. Saumya insists she never meant it, but Krish cuts through the excuses and tells her that she needs to act before it is too late.

Krish then makes one final attempt to shake Jeet out of his decision. He challenges him to stay and directly asks if someone special is behind his sudden need to run away. Jeet responds only with a heavy look before walking away in silence. As midnight approaches, Saumya sits on her bed desperately typing an apology. She wants to tell Jeet she never meant those cruel words and beg him to stay. But just as she finally gathers the courage to send it, the message fails. Jeet has blocked her. Panic hits hard as Saumya realizes she has completely lost the way to reach him.

The next morning, she rushes into the kitchen and finds Madhu making caramelized parathas. Madhu gives her some blunt advice, suggesting Jeet’s departure might be the harsh wake up call she needs. Soumya refuses to give up. She writes a heartfelt “Sorry” directly on the final paratha and decides she will not let Jeet disappear without trying one last time. She races upstairs with her edible apology, only for Uma to reveal that Jeet has already left for college. Saumya immediately bolts out of the house and runs after Jeet.

At college, Jeet sits in Sanjeev’s cabin waiting for his transfer certificate. Sanjeev keeps delaying, clearly searching for any excuse to stop him from leaving Prayagraj. He lies to Jeet, claiming his transfer certificate hasn’t arrived yet. After Jeet leaves, he takes out the certificate and tears it to pieces. Meanwhile, Saumya, clutching a tiffin filled with caramelised parathas, comes face-to-face with Jeet.

Jeet silently rejects Saumya’s caramelised paratha and walks away, prompting Saumya to fake a sudden stomach ache to Anoop so she can slip out of college and intercept him. Back at home, Nita tries to cheer up a depressed, sleep-obsessed Ridhan via video call, while Pakhi tells Nita to stop stressing over the failed alliance. Saumya returns home just as a mechanic tells Jeet his damaged bike will take a week to fix or be sent to the scrapyard. A heartbroken Jeet bids his beloved ride a tearful goodbye and leaves for the bus terminal. Saumya tracks down the mechanic who bought the bike for Rs 20,000, paying Rs 8,300 in cash on the spot and promising the rest later to save Jeet’s precious ride from destruction.

At the bus terminal, Jeet watches an emotional couple struggle with a goodbye before climbing aboard his own bus. The vehicle is packed, but Jeet refuses to give up and argues his way into a spot beside the driver. Prodded by annoyed passengers, Jeet finally answers his ringing phone, does a double-take at the caller ID “Mufat Ladki,” and realizes the sassy mystery girl is actually Saumya.

Jeet barely has time to process the revelation before the bus suddenly slams on the brakes. Saumya is standing right in the middle of the road, blocking its path. The bus driver becomes irritated and rudely tells Saumya to move away, even telling her to die somewhere else. Jeet immediately objects to the driver’s harsh words and signals him not to speak to Saumya that way. He gets down from the bus, bringing the two face-to-face. His jaw hits the floor when he looks past her and sees his beloved bike completely safe and sound. Stripping away all the fear, Saumya looks right into Jeet’s eyes, admits that she is hopelessly in love with him and begs him not to leave Prayagraj. Jeet stands there completely thunderstruck and overwhelmed by the confession.

Jeet coldly boards the bus and leaves Saumya stranded on the road with his rescued bike. He ignores her emotional confession and climbs back into the bus without giving her a single word of response. As passengers side-eye Jeet for for walking away from the girl who loves him, he opens the cookie box inside the bus. He spots Soumya’s left-behind scrunchie, and gets completely flooded with memories of their shared moments.

Back home, Krish finds a heartbroken Saumya with Jeet’s bike. She smashes open her piggy bank, gathers every rupee she has, and gives the money to Krish. She asks him to get his bike properly repaired and make sure the junkyard owner is paid. She explains that Jeet may have broken her heart, but she refuses to let something he loves suffer because of it.

Jeet arrives in Banaras where the bus driver tells him that the bus will return to Prayagraj in an hour, and bluntly urges him to stop running from whatever is eating him alive. Later, Jeet sits by the ghat seeking guidance from Mahakal, only to find Soumya’s face constantly haunting his thoughts.

Back in Prayagraj, Uma gently suggests Jeet might not love her to cushion her from pain, but Saumya fiercely refuses to accept silence as a rejection. She insists that she needs a face-to-face answer. Meanwhile, in London, a deeply stressed Ridhan visits a doctor for severe anxiety and restlessness, receiving a strict warning against overdosing on his daily prescription meds.

Uma spins an elaborate, hilarious lie to Anoop about her sister’s “missing pigeon,” to secure permission to take Saumya along with her on an emergency trip. Armed with unstoppable determination and backed by Uma and Krish, Saumya touches down in Banaras, ready to force Jeet to confront the truth.

Character Development

Highlight Of The Week

Performances

Ishhan Dhawan proves his versatility in a track that forces Jeet to turn completely inward. While he has always been impressive with expressive emotions, this phase demands something harder. Jeet is drowning in denial and avoidance, yet almost none of that turmoil can openly escape. The actor lets that battle unfold beneath the surface through heavy silences, and the uneasy stillness of a man trapped by his own fears.

His strongest weapon here is restraint. Ishhan keeps Jeet’s face almost completely controlled while allowing his eyes to tell an entirely different story. He captures emotional paralysis without ever allowing Jeet to feel blank or distant. That control makes the rare cracks in his armor land even harder. Jeet spends so much of this phase running from feelings he cannot understand that the suffocation becomes almost tangible. Ishhan, through his portrayal, makes it clear that his silence is not coldness, but survival.

Jeet is desperately trying to hold himself together because acknowledging what he feels would mean stepping into emotional territory that terrifies him. By trusting stillness over spectacle, Ishhan makes Jeet’s internal war every bit as gripping as his loudest confrontations.

Debchandrima Singha Roy makes Saumya’s emotional unraveling and awakening equally compelling. She takes a character who has spent years shrinking herself and slowly allows that restraint to crack, revealing a woman finally ready to fight for what she feels.

Her proposal scene is particularly powerful. As Saumya stops Jeet’s bus and bares her heart, Debchandrima brings desperation, courage, and vulnerability together without letting the moment become overly dramatic. Equally striking is the way she handles Saumya’s humiliation at the ball and the crushing silence that follows Jeet’s rejection. Her face carries the sting before the tears ever arrive. Even at her most broken, Saumya never feels helpless in Debchandrima’s hands. Every pause, trembling glance, and burst of courage feels connected to the emotional weight she has carried for years. That balance between fragility and fire makes Saumya’s transformation from silent sufferer to a woman chasing her own truth deeply affecting.

Arnav Maggo makes his limited screen time count, giving Ridhan’s heartbreak a quiet dignity that touches you.

In A Nutshell

Ridhan heads for London, Jeet escapes to Banaras and Saumya turns her love story into an interstate chase. Add heart-shaped cookies, one Sorry paratha and Baby’s miraculous rescue, and Yeh Fitoor Tera, this week, serves heartbreak with enough carbs to survive it.
