Speaking about the box office collection of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter page and wrote, “#TuJhoothiMainMakkaar maintains the grip on Day 2… A 34.27% decline on a working day- after a holiday- was inevitable… Biz should start moving from Fri [evening] onwards, with Sat-Sun giving that extra boost…Wed 15.73 cr, Thu 10.34 cr. Total: Rs. 26.07 cr. #India biz. #TJMM.”

Earlier in an interview with PTI, Shraddha Kapoor had opened up on her character in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and said, “It’s such a different character from what I’ve played in Aashiqui 2 and other films after that. She is a girl who is more in charge, she is on the front foot and is confident. For me, it was refreshing to play a character who says what she feels. She is a girl-next-door with some ‘tadka (spice)’. It was a first for me.”

Directed by Luv Ranjan, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar revolves around the madness that ensues when a player in the world of ‘romantic’ relationships finds a worthy opponent. The film marks Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s first cinematic collaboration.
