Ashnoor Kaur recently made her comeback on small screen after three years with Colors’ new show, Suman Indori.

Ashnoor Kaur who made her acting debut as a child artist with Zee’s historical show, Jhansi Ki Rani went on to star in popular soaps like Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Patiala Babes. After a hiatus of three years, the actress recently returned to the small screen with Colors’ new show, Suman Indori.

In an interview with ETimes, Ashnoor expressed her excitement about her comeback on television and said that it feels like she is back home.

The actress told the publication, “It is a great feeling to be back on the small screen. I was on a three-year break as I was doing my college. It was pre-decided that I wanted to give time to my college life. Those three years were essential for me because I  got to explore myself better. As we say your college life won’t come back and the  memories you make last for a lifetime, so I didn’t want to miss out on that.”

Ashnoor said that since she had been working since a young age, she wanted to give breathers to the audience and stay away from the limelight, adding that she didn’t want them to have a child image of her in their minds when she returned back as a grown-up version of herself.

The actress admitted that it was difficult to step back to break that monotony as she had taken a break by choice.

Ashnoor recalled, ” I was refusing projects but also, I don’t regret  any bit of it. I feel everything was worth it, the  fear that I was away from these long-term  projects, now that I’m back with a show like Suman Indori, I feel it is just like it should have been.”
The actress revealed that she took off three years to make some time for herself, and added that she did music albums and shot for two OTT shows which will be releasing in a few months.
Speaking about her comeback show, Suman Indori, Ashnoor said that it isn’t a typical saas-bahu drama as her character Suman is very strong and not a ‘bechari’ at all. She added that it was the storyline that prompted her to take up the show.
“Suman is the man of  the house, she is the sole breadwinner of the  family. She voices out her opinions and fights  for the rights of the people working with her.  There is a devrani-jethani angle and eventually, she does get married and that is why also, I took a three-year break because I didn’t want to do a married character during  my teenage years. All the shows that were coming my way at some time or the other involved marriage. Now that I’m 20, I don’t mind and in the show also marriage will not happen immediately, it will take time, ” the actress told the publication.
Besides featuring Ashnoor Kaur in the titular role, Suman Indori also stars Zain Imam and Anita Hassanandani.
