Tamannaah Bhatia revealed that she was initially apprehensive about shaking a leg in Stree 2 after her hit song ‘Kaavaalaa’ from Jailer as she felt it was ‘very risky’.

Tamannaah Bhatia left everyone asking for more as Shama with her sizzling dance moves in ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ song in Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor’s latest blockbuster film, Stree 2. However, you guys would be surprised to know that the actress was initially not keen to take up this dance number.

In an interview with Grazia India, Tamannaah revealed, , “On the heels of Kaavaalaa’s success, doing the song for Stree 2 felt very risky. I thought, ‘Will I be able to top what I’ve already done?’ But when Amar (Kaushik) met me and said, ‘I have this song for you, and it’s actually very crucial to the storyline,’ I just instinctively knew I had to do it.”

Reflecting upon her career, the actress admitted that there was a phase where she was stereotyped as the girl-next-door, adding that to break free from that image, she quickly began to chose roles that people never expected her to take up.

” Even if they were shorter roles, if they came at pivotal moments in the story, she was eager to take them on. “I was never focused on the length of the part. All I wanted was for people to remember me,” Tamannaah told the magazine.

She further said that her goal has always been to make people feel- starting with her own self.

“Every time you play a character, the choices you make reflect your inner perspective and thought process. I have learnt something new about myself every time I’ve played a new character – my shortcomings, my insecurities, my likes and my dislikes. As long as I feel deeply about a piece of art I’m creating, I can do anything. Truly, with the right amount of prep, everything is achievable. I mean, I might not be able to participate in the Olympics in this lifetime, but I could do my best to portray that on screen for you guys,” the actress was quoted as saying.

Besides Stree 2, Tamannaah was also recently seen in a cameo in John Abraham-Sharvari’s thriller, Vedaa. She is currently filming for her Telugu film, Odela 2. She is also a part of a dramedy show, Daring Partners which chronicles the entrepreneurial journey of two women in the largely-male dominated alcohol industry.
