Rohit Chandel will be seen sharing screen space with American actor Usman Ally in his Hollywood debut, Ryder.

Rohit Chandel, who won hearts with his role as Dhawal in Star Plus‘ popular TV show Pandya Store, is now set to make his big screen debut in Hollywood. The actor has bagged an international project titled, Ryder in which he will be seen alongside American actor Usman Ally.

In a chat with ETimes, Rohit shared, “For the last one and half years I was trying my luck in the Western showbiz industry. But meanwhile, the Pandya Store happened. They already had my profile and I was approached for this film which will be shot in India, in fact, Mumbai itself. It’s an ensemble cast of Indian and American actors. I’m also excited to enjoy the opportunity to work with some very well-known action directors. It’s an action, adventure, crime movie.”

While the ‘Escaype Live’ actor remained tight-lipped about his role in the film, he did reveal that his character in the film is named Raj.

Further, Rohit also spoke about how he draws inspiration from western films.

“I remember watching the film trilogy, The Godfather. I really admire the acting of Robert De Niro and Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone, and Al Pacino as Michael Corleone. Somehow, they all inspired and motivated me to enhance my acting skills. I was impressed by the way they made the characterisation. I’m inspired by them and see a future for myself in Western films. As a viewer too, I enjoy watching such films. One out of every three movies is a Western movie on my list every weekend. That’s how I keep the balance and I don’t miss any content,” he told the publication.

Rohit Chandel made his acting debut with a small role in Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal, and went on to feature in prominent shows like Tamanna, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Chandragupta Maurya, Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Kashibai Bajirao Ballal, amongst others. He is also a part of late Sangeeth Sivan’s swan song, The Blind Game which is yet to release.
