At a recent event, Nawazuddin Siddiqui spoke about his evolution as an actor over the years.

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has always made a mark on screen with his versatile performances irrespective of the medium ever since he made his acting debut. At the trailer launch event of his upcoming film, Jogira Sara Ra Ra, the Gangs Of Wasseypur actor looked back at his journey and talked about how he has evolved over the years.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui told reporters that he doesn’t want to become a superstar compromising on his acting skills. He said that he would rather ‘shoot’ himself than be a superstar who acts in one tone.

The actor said, “You learn every day, it’s a new experience which helps enhance your craft. I can’t act the way I used to 20 years ago because today I carry the experience of those many years. It’s important to evolve constantly and with experience, your acting also changes. I can’t be stuck. If someone tells me that they’ll make me a superstar but I’ll have to do just one kind of role, I’ll shoot myself. I’ll quickly get bored, quit it and join some other field.”

He said that it’s impossible for him to act in one tone and that he will always try to experience and do something new.

“Whether it’s a film of one rupee or Rs 15 crore, whether I get paid or not but I’m alive as long as I keep experimenting. Otherwise zinda reh ke bhi aadmi marr jata hai and I don’t want to do that,” Nawazuddin Siddiqui said at the event.

Speaking about his upcoming projects, the Sacred Games actor revealed that he recently wrapped up the shooting of a film in Frankfurt which had a unit of only 10 people. He also shared that he is doing a big-budget South film.

According to Nawazuddin, one can become an actor only if they can bring in this adjustment in their body and thought process. “Otherwise, it’s all images, something is attached with your name— someone is mega, someone something else. But my attempt is only to keep experimenting,” the actor said at the event.

Coming back to Jogira Sara Ra Ra, the Kushan Nandy directorial features Neha Sharma opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
