Katrina Kaif, in a chat with an entertainment portal, got candid about what went behind her famous towel fight sequence in Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3.

Katrina Kaif is one of the few heroines in Bollywood who never fails to impress when it comes to action sequences on screen. Take for example, her latest towel fight scene with American actress Michelle Lee in her latest release, Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3. The mentioned sequence featuring the two towel-clad ladies, locking horns in a hamam, caught everyone’s attention right from the time the makers gave its little glimpse in the trailer of the film.

Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Katrina opened up on the challenges she faced while filming this pivotal sequence. The actress revealed that she gets into a different zone while shooting for movies like Tiger 3. She further added that action films can be tough and emphasized on how preparation is the key for them.

Katrina said, “When it’s Tiger time, that mode goes on. That’s a different mode. I was actually talking about it yesterday with Vicky, and he was explaining to someone that ‘when Tiger comes, it’s a different mode and  I see a different person.’”

Speaking about her towel fight scene in Tiger 3, she said that the challenge with respect to this sequence was to make the fight look real, intense, and visually appealing while maintaining a balance.

The ‘Bharat’ actress said that the brief before the scene was not to ‘look very hot, and beat the hell out of each other.’

Katrina told the portal, “I think the director has that trust in me that, first, we’re out there to make the scene look real. With Tiger, the action has always been a little more hand-to-hand. There’s a lot of combat. You kind of get involved in the fights. With the hammam scene, I think it was Adi (Aditya Chopra) who had conceptualised that fight. It seemed so novel and unique, and it was a challenge for all of us to get it right. It’s got to look real, intense, but it’s also got to look aesthetic because you want to see the fight. For me, that’s how action should be.”

Previously, in an interview, Katrina’s co-star Michelle Lee said revealed that one of the main challenges of the hammam scene was the wardrobe. She said that it was challenging to make sure that their towels stayed in the proper place with so much movement and fight choreography. To pull that off, they had their towels sewn closed at certain points which proved to be of great help to them.

Tiger 3 marks Salman Khan’s return as the Indian spy Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger and features Emraan Hashmi as the main antagonist.
