Junaid Khan opened up on why he failed to bag Laal Singh Chaddha despite his actor-father Aamir Khan liking his audition for the film.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s son Junaid made his acting debut earlier this year with the Netflix film, Maharaj. Based on a real life historic court case, the debutant played the role of a journalist in this Siddharth P Malhotra directorial which also starred Sharvari, Shalini Pandey and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Recently, while speaking at NDTV Yuva, Junaid shared that he gave many auditions before Maharaj, but failed to crack them, adding that actor often test for a lot of things.

He further revealed that he had even auditioned for Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha that was spearheaded by his actor-father Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, he failed to get selected for it despite his father liking his audition.

Explaining the reason before the same, Junaid said, “The film was budgeted at a level where you wouldn’t cast a new actor as the lead. So, I wasn’t selected for that film).”

Further, the star kid also honestly admitted that his status as Aamir Khan’s son likely played a part in him  bagging his debut film, Maharaj.
