Jay Bhanushali of Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum fame spoke about how he gets upset when actors ‘degrade’ working on the small screen.

After staying away from TV serials for 11 years, Jay Bhanushali recently made a comeback in the fictional space on the small screen with Sony TV’s Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum which also stars Tina Dutta and Kitu Gidwani.

In an interview with ETimes, the Kayamath actor expressed his disappointment over actors ‘degrading’ working on television.

Jay told the publication that he has never differentiated between his jobs on OTT, films and TV and added that he has huge respect for television artists who have being doing shows for several years.

Talking about how it isn’t an easy feat, he explained, “When you do have a film, there’s a schedule of 15-20 days. So, you can concentrate and then have a break and then you come back fresh and do more scenes. On TV, you are working every day in difficult situations.”

“If anyone degrades TV actors or TV, my blood boils. You have been given an identity due to television. You have a bungalow or a car or a name because of it. You shouldn’t ever forget that. If I had not been on television, I wouldn’t have been anywhere. So, I won’t consider it less any day,” Jay told the daily.

He also said for him, the platform doesn’t matter as long as he gets work to do, adding that he isn’t one of those actors to feel insecure about anything. Looking back at his early days, the Hate Story 2 actor recalled he had made a group of 50 people where they would send messages to each other about auditions.

Jay signed off by saying that he is always happy for his friends when they bag big projects.
