Popular content creator Viraj Ghelani said that shooting for Atlee-Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was the worst experience of his life.
Viraj Ghelani, who is known for his hilarious, quirky content on Instagram, didn’t mince his words in an interview when he was asked about his cameo as a cop in Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film, Jawan.
In an episode of The Having Said That Show, he called working in this Atlee directorial his ‘worst experience ever’ and talked about the work culture on the sets of that film.
Expressing his regret over doing Jawan, he said, “Why did I do it? People are very sweet who watched the film for me that I watched your part. But it was my worst experience ever. Because see, the thing is… they don’t consider you because they have Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan and two Shah Rukh Khans and all those things. The work culture was ‘yahan khada ho ja, yeh kar le (stand here, do this)’. There was this scene where, in the close-ups, I have a gun because I am a cop, and then they go for a wide shot. Then I said that prop guy has taken my gun. They said gun will come to you, stand here. I was like, okay. But the gun never came.”
Viraj said that his closest friends didn’t even watch the film either in theatres or on OTT and instead said, “F**k it.” Further, he also revealed that when he took his fiancée to the film’s premiere, she eagerly awaited for his scene, but it just was turned out to be a blink-and-miss.

Ghelani said that he shot for over a week in the scorching May for a week, but only a fraction of his scenes make it to the final cut, adding that creators and influencers are only cast for their clout.
“They were like, that. I came, and I went. I am just a blurred image in the background. I had (shot) proper dialogues. I had shot for ten days in Madh Island in the heat of May. Then suddenly, I see that whatever we had worked on for 15 days, they only used what we shot during the first 30 minutes on the first day. Creators are cast for their clout only.”
Viraj made his acting debut on the big screen with Vicky Kaushal-Bhumi Pednekar-Kiara Advani’s Govinda Naam Mera. Jawan was his second Hindi film outing. His last major release was the Gujarati horror comedy, Jhamkudi alongside Manasi Parekh.
