Nani is one of the most popular stars in the Telugu film industry who has delivered several memorable performances in his career spanning around a decade and a half. Now, the actor is all set to go the pan-India way with his upcoming film, Dasara, which is slated to release in multiple languages.

The ambitious film is set in tough terrain in the coal mines and has the actor essaying a rustic character.

In his recent interaction with India Today, the Jersey actor bared his heart about whether he misses having a blockbuster hit like Pushpa and RRR in his career despite all the accolades coming his way.

Nani told the publication, “I am so happy for them, but I have never done a film thinking about the end result of the film. I want people to love the film, but it doesn’t matter if it is 10 people or 100 people. I don’t want to make a film which is not liked. The effort is to make a good film and reach more people. We want the producers and distributors to be happy and make money and, in that way, Dasara is already in the safe zone. We are not promoting Dasara across India because we want to make it a big film but because the story deserves it. I believe in this film and feel this film deserves it.”

Interestingly, Dasara marks the directorial debut of Srikanth Odela, who worked as an assistant director to Pushpa director Sukumar.

Nani also went on to add that Dasara is an Indian film and not just a Telugu film.

Elaborating on it, the National-award winning actor said, “I’m from Hyderabad and this village where the story takes place is equally alien to me as it is to someone from the North or somewhere else. This film is about a new world for everyone, including Telugu people. But the emotions are very strong and relatable. It is about love and friendship and those don’t have boundaries. I believe this film will connect with everyone. I don’t want to sound over-confident, but when you believe something, you need to say it.”

With music by Santhosh Narayanan, Dasara also features Keerthy Suresh in a pivotal role.
