Jr NTR recalled how his ‘Devara’ co-star Janhvi Kapoor reminded him of her actress-mother Sridevi when she did a photoshoot for the film.

With just few days remaining for Koratala Siva’s much-anticipated film, Devara- Part 1 to hit the big screens, fans can’t wait to watch the fresh pairing of Jr NTR-Janhvi Kapoor on screen. The big-budget action flick marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi, and Saif Ali Khan who plays the main antagonist.

Recently, the Devara team settled for a chat with ‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for one of their promotional events. During the course of the conversation, the film’s leading man, Jr NTR spoke highly of his co-star Janhvi. He recalled how certain gestures and the way the ‘Dhadak’ actress presents herself on camera reminded him of the late Sridevi when they gathered for a photoshoot for their film.

The ‘RRR’ said, “I remember, there was this photoshoot where we did a look test of sorts. There was this picture of hers which we released, where she was sitting on the boat and looking at the camera. She looked so much like Sridevi garu. In certain angles, she just looks like her. We tried to capture a bit of that also on camera, but I don’t think you can capture that in angles. But, it is in the way she performs, or in the way she smiles. It brings that reminiscence of Sridevi garu back.”

In response, Janhvi said that acting in Telugu ‘felt like home’ to her.

“It is weird for me to say this, but I feel that more when I perform and speak in Telugu. I don’t know if that makes sense. It just felt more like home to me,” the actress said in the interview.

Janhvi Kapoor’s mother, legendary actress Sridevi featured in many Telugu films like Kshana KshanamJagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari, Aakhari Poratam, amongst many others.

Coming back to Devara, the first chapter of the film is slated to hit the big screens on September 27, 2024.
