Arjun Kapoor, in a recent interview, shared that he was initially apprehensive about Parineeti Chopra’s casting in Ishaqzaade mainly because he felt she was too ‘talkative’ and not serious about the film.
Parineeti Chopra’s portrayal of Zoya, a headstrong girl in Habib Faisal’s directorial Ishaqzaade won her critical acclaimed from every nook and corner. However do you know that her co-star Arjun Kapoor was initially apprehensive about Parineeti’s casting in this film? Reason? He felt that she was too ‘talkative’ and ‘irritating’!
The actor made this confession in his recent chat with Mashable India wherein he recalled his first impression of Parineeti.
Arjun shared, “I was very against her being in the film. Because I was like yeh bolti bahot hai. Readings pe aayi thi, ek toh kharab reading karti thi bahot. Parineeti Chopra doesn’t like this workshops and readings. She’s a very spontaneous actor or perhaps, she saves it for the set. I don’t know what her operation is. So woh aayi thi aur pehle din maine kuch joke crack kiya and she looked at me sajd lol. I said ‘Can you just laugh? It’s not a chat na? Aapne LOL kyu bola? Hasdo.’So, I used to find her irritating. She used to talk in emojis.”

He continued, “She was not serious about it. I thought ki itni badi picture mili hai. Mai 6 mahine se wait kar raha hu ki Zoya mil jae and Zoya aa ke ‘LOL LOL’ kar rahi thi. My career is over. This girl is not interested.”
The ‘Singham Again’ actor revealed that his perception about Parineeti changed when he finally watched her performing in front of camera, and added that he was so much in shock that he even forgot his lines.
Arjun said, “Then we did a mock shoot. I was so much in shock that I forgot my lines and my acting. Mahina bhar se tu script padh rahi thi toh bakwas, and then suddenly, that camera came on and she had fire in her eyes. Then, I was like thik hai thik hai karlegi.”
Ishaqzaade upon its release was well-received by the critics and the audience, and catapulted Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra to fame.
